En effet les personnes plus talentueuses vendent leur travail un peu plus cher, mais vendent de très grandes quantités. De ce fait « leurs revenus viennent avant tout de la vente en grande quantité plutôt que de prix plus élevés ». Robert Frank et Philip Cook ont popularisé le débat sur les conséquences perverses de l'effet superstar dans un livre intitulé The Winner-Take-All Society. Quand le coût d'opportunité (stockage et distribution) est élevé, seuls les produits qui concentrent le maximum d'achats sur un faible nombre de titre sont vendus, mais ne touche que très imparfaitement l'ensemble du marché potentiel. Quand l’effet longue queue se vérifie, la totalité du marché potentiel est accessible, les blockbusters et les goûts minoritaires sont aussi satisfaits et les individus ont un plus grand choix. La télévision en offre un bon exemple : chaque chaîne dispose d’un temps limité de diffusion (24 heures maximum par jour), donc le coût d’opportunité de chaque tranche horaire est élevé ; les chaînes choisissent donc le programme qui potentiellement rassemblera le plus de monde. sur le point de conclure un accord de libre-échange avec la Corée. En ce qui concerne le protocole de coopération culturelle, la France et les milieux culturels ont eu la désagréable surprise de constater que la Commission a proposé à la Corée le même protocole que celui signé avec les Caraïbes, sans l’adapter aux spécificités d’un pays développé, grand producteur audiovisuel, notamment dans l’animation. Ainsi, l’octroi du statut d’œuvre européenne aux coproductions UE-Corée, mesure préférentielle à réserver aux pays en développement ne se justifie pas et n’a fait l’objet d’aucune étude d’impact. Ils ont entre 4 et 15 ans. Tous sont en haillons, sales, et semblent inexorablement seuls et abandonnés.<br />Ils sont partout, à chaque coin de rue, chaque carrefour.<br />Ce sont eux qui ont en charge les basses besognes. Ils aident au déchargement du poisson, récurent les coques des pirogues et même quelquefois partent en mer avec les pêcheurs.<br />Ce sont des Talibés, des élèves des écoles coraniques. Toutes celles-ci ne sont pas logées à la même enseigne, mais celles de M’bour, comme des centaines d’autres au Sénégal, obligent leurs élèves à mendier l’essentiel de la journée. Quelques- unes les obligeant même à rapporter de l’argent sous peine d’être impitoyablement battus.<br /><br />Chaque village africain abritait autrefois son école coranique. Le maître, le marabout, en contrepartie de l’enseignement qu’il prodiguait à ses élèves, les envoyait cultiver son champ et, un bref moment de la journée, quémander de la nourriture dans les maisons du village. L’exode rural a bouleversé ces pratiques. Les villages vides, certains maîtres installent leurs écoles dans les villes et les enfants consacrent la majeure partie de leur temps à la mendicité. Et quand ils ne mendient pas, ils apprennent le coran. Par cœur, des heures durant, sous le fouet du Marabout, luttant contre le sommeil et la faim.<br /><br />En visite à M’bour pour filmer un autre sujet j’ai été bouleversé par la vision de ces foules d’enfants tristes, et c’est pourquoi j’ai voulu vivre quelques semaines à leur côté. J’en rapporte ce film, ces images dures, témoins d’un phénomène qui prend chaque jour de l’ampleur. The youngest case is of a one day old girl.<br /><br />The cause of these rapes is shocking: men with HIV/AIDS believe that they will be cured if they have sex with a virgin; the younger and more “pure” the girl, the better their chances of ridding themselves of aids.<br /><br />A vital source of support for the girls has been the Girl Child Network (GCN), founded by Betty Makoni. With over 350 chapters and membership of over 25,000 girls, ages 0-18, this non-profit supports girls who are victims of abuse by offering resources, care and a way to keep them in school. GCN has also built three empowerment villages entirely devoted to creating a safe haven for girls to realize their full potential.<br /><br />TAPESTRIES OF HOPE is the story of two child abuse survivors from opposite corners of the world who take on a government, a myth, and an entrenched system in their fight to protect girls of Zimbabwe from rape and abuse.<br /><br />During the production shoot in Zimbabwe in August of 2007, Michealene and her crew were arrested, interrogated, imprisoned, and “unofficially” deported for filming the story. Each is contributing to UNICEF their time and effort - along with any future benefits generated from the films.<br /><br />The films are based on real life stories of children living in India, Peru, Argentina, Senegal and Equatorial Guinea. Among the topics looked at are HIV/AIDS, child labour, malaria, and the rights for all children, boys and girls, to be able to attend school.<br /><br />The vivid images are powerful reminders of why so much more work needs to be done in order to make the world a better place for all children.<br /><br /><br /><br />Filmmaker Patricia Ferreira (left) with two children who appeared in her film<br />El secreto mejor guardado tells the story of Ravi, an orphan who lives with his grandmother in Southern India. Ravi travels to a far off village to attend school; his own village rejects him in fear that Ravi may have AIDS.<br />Vicenta, a nurse working for a hospital in La vida efimera, learns about devastating diseases - such as malaria - that are taking the lives of children in Equatorial Guinea.<br /><br /><br /><br />Javier Corcuera (right) with Eusebia (left). Javier's film is about Eusebia's broken dream of going to school<br />Three-year-old Maca tells us why she’s happy in Las siete alcantarillas. She soon discovers her view of reality doesn’t quite correspond to that of the spectator. She lives in a slum surrounded by garbage; her older brother steals to meet the family’s needs.<br />In Hijas de belen, an aging woman named Eusebia recalls her broken dream of going to school to learn read and write. History repeats itself as the children in her town are also deprived of education because they have to work in order to support their families.<br /><br /><br /><br />Javier Fesser with children of Senegal<br />Binta y la granidea introduces us to seven-year-old Binta, who lives in a village in southern Senegal where she goes to school. Her cousin Soda doesn’t have the same luck.
